George David Wedaman, 71, of Pomaria, died Monday, June 27, 2016, at his residence.

Born on March 11, 1945, in Newberry, he was a son of the late David LeRoy Wedaman, Jr. and Marjorie Bobb Wedaman. He was the retired owner of Wedaman Electric and was known throughout the community as a "Jack of all Trades.” Mr. Wedaman was the president of the board of Farmer's Mutual, a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and served on the Pomaria Fire Department for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Long Wedaman; a son, Jonathan David (Alyssa) Wedaman; a brother, Richard Wedaman; sisters, Barbara Turner and Evelyn Lloyd.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Arden Hallman. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Pomaria Fire Department, c/o Jonathan Wedaman, 3776 Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Steven Suber, Slade Richardson, Jason Lester, Caroll Long and Steven Long.

Mrs. Linda, Jonathan, Alyssa and the rest of your family, I was was heartbroken to hear about Mr. George. He was such a sweet man and I will miss him.
