Ronald Lewis “Ronnie” Porter, 63,of Prosperity died Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his residence.

Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late Harold Lewis and Patricia Revis Porter. He was a partner in K's Rentals and was the retired owner of Mid-Carolina Welding. Ronnie loved life and was always there to help others.. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting and fishing. He especially loved his fur baby, Parker Porter.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Harmon Porter; a son, Ronald William “Will” Porter of Prosperity; his sister, Donna Harmon (Jay) Porter of Newberry; and his mother-in law, Estelle Wilson Harmon. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his father-in-law, William C. Harmon.

A service celebrating Ronnie's life will be held at a later time.

The family is at his home where they will receive guests.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 2541 Evans Street, Suite 200, Newberry, SC 29108.

The family would like to thank Dr. Ben Pinner, Debbie Lawson and the Staff of Hospice Care of South Carolina for their special care.

I am so sorry to hear about Ronnie. He fought a good fight and now he has gone to his reward. Kay and family, I am so sorry on the passing of Ronnie. Ronnie was a good man and a hard worker. I believe he had a heart of gold and did his very best for his family.
