Nancy Cook Lathrop, 82, of Newberry, died Monday, January 28, 2019 at her residence.
Born on April 12, 1936 in Laurens, she was a daughter of the late Ray and Ruby Brown Cook. She was retired from Torrington Bearing Company. Mrs. Lathrop was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Men's and Women's Club. She was also a member of the Hartford Community Center.
She is survived by her husband, Woodrow Lathrop; daughters, Donna Richardson of Newberry, Alice Lathrop of Lexington and Vicki (Jack) Hamm of Newberry; a son, Chuck (Diane) Lathrop of Newberry; a sister, Betty (Lewis) Cox of Valdosta, GA; a brother, Ray (Christine) Cook of Georgetown, TX; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Ebenezer United Methodist Church by the Rev. Jimmy Counts and the Rev. David Surrett. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery Association, c/o Donna Richardson, 8156 SC Highway 395,Newberry, SC 29108.
Active pallbearers will be Keith Lyons, Jimmy Lathrop, Dean Eades, Bobby Lathrop, Earl Waters and Tom Fearrington.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Ebenezer United Methodist Church Family and the staff of MSA Hospice.
