Jimmy Daniel Metts, 78, of Little Mountain, widower of Rosemary Long Metts, died Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at his residence.

Born on August 28, 1940 in Little Mountain, he was a son of the late Henry Elmer and Mabrie Lindler Metts. He was a 1958 graduate of Little Mountain High School and in recent years enjoyed his monthly outings with his fellow classmates. Mr. Metts was an Army Veteran and  retired from BellSouth and was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church.

He is survived by a daughter, Tammy (Bernie) Metts of Little Mountain; a sister, Dorothy Huffstetler of Chapin; grandchildren, Allen Sanders, Joshua Sanders and Jordan Sanders and great-granddaughters, Elainah and Kayden Sanders. Mr. Metts was predeceased by a daughter, Pam Bass and  by brothers, Richard Metts and Howard Metts.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church by the Rev. Gary Lyerly. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church Special Fund, 816 Mt. Tabor Road, Little Mountain, SC 29075 or to the Little Mountain Rescue Squad, PO Box 8, Little Mountain, SC 29075.

Active pallbearers will be Andy Metts, Alex Metts, Duane Huffstetler, Ken Long, Melvin Metts and Randy Frick.

Jimmy was an easy going soft spoken man,and a good friend to have.He helped me many times with cable problems at Bell South.I know he is in Heaven now.

Heartfelt condolences to Tammy and Bernie and all of the Metts family during this difficult time. There are not enough words to descibe Uncle Jim and how much he meant to me during the time that Wyman and I were married. He always made me feel like an important part of the family.
