I am/was a co-worker of Renee's at the VA and she was a genuinely nice person, a great nurse and a wonderful teacher! Not long ago I called and asked her for a tutorial on a particular device and she did one better - she told me to come the next day and she showed me! I learned so much more from her showing me and she knew that's what would happen! She'll be sorely missed and I wish God's grace be with her family! Jean

Renee, I’m so sorry to say “Good Bye to my sweet, special, professional, caring, and loving dear friend.” I met Renee through a very serious illness that began in 2007 and to some extent still exists. Renee took care of me in the hospital and every day when she walked into my room she brightened my day. She created a bandage for one of my issues that I needed but the wound care companies didn’t have. She put one together for me through her crafty, creative, professional, and critical “ingenious” thinking skills and created that bandage which played a critical part of my healing process. Without it, I may well have died. Renee and I became close friends and she always reminded me that she was always a phone call away if I needed her. She is truly a precious friend who only comes through our lives once a lifetime. I will forever miss you Renee but know I will see you again someday. I bet you feel great with all that miserable back pain being all gone. You will always be my very special friend. I’ll always love

I know you you're on that mountain top. You left us way to soon and we weren't ready for you to go. You left us all with special memories we'll never forget. You showed us what kindness and caring were all about. Thanks for all the fun times in Duluth. Rest In Peace my friend until we see each other again.

I'm lost for words. Its hard to see such a person with joy and happiness all the time just up and leave. During school and when you would see her in public, she always had a smile. She will be dearly miss. My prayers go out to the family during this difficult time.

Renee was the first customer I really bonded with 10 years ago when I came to work at KCI. She was was so kind to this rookie and I always enjoyed working with her. Over the years my territory changed, but I always knew I could count on a visit and a big hug when we saw each other at SERWOCN. Her death will create quite a hole in the Southeastern wound care community but her legacy for quality patient care, compassion and nurse education shall endure!

Renee was one of the kindest, gentlest people I have ever known. I knew Renee for many years as owner of a pet resort where she brought her sweet babies, Cassie, Coco and Lucas for Doggie Day Camp and Boarding. It was a privilege to be trusted by Renee to care for her sweet babies before I retired a year ago.
Renee and I still stayed in touch with one another some, and I have always respected her and loved her as a wonderful person and friend.
One of my favorite sayings would be appropriate for Renee, also, I believe: Among the things in my life I thank God for most, is the love he gave me for animals. My heart would be emptier, and life would be less without them.
I believe Renee had a very big heart full of love for animals as well as people, and she supported pet rescue. Her sweet babies, Cassie and Lucas, will miss her. And, I will, too! Laura

The world is a little darker place without the light of kindness and compassion Reneé shone in it. She and I understood each other’s devotion to our furry four-legged babies. I once posted on Facebook that I was going to shop for school supplies for my babies at school who were less fortunate and wouldn’t otherwise have what they needed. Reneé sent a gift card to help make the start of some child’s year a better one. I used that card to help purchase school uniforms for a precious little girl of mine. That is a selfless love that the world needs more of! My heartfelt condolences to her family and friends.

Such a loss of a beautiful soul. I remember when she was involved in scrap booking. She and her mother did some quilts for me. But what she will be remembered for is her passion in nursing. She was the most caring, compassionate person I ever encountered. She will be missed by her patients and hospital family.

I am broken-hearted to read this today. None of my former students should be gone before me! What a lovely lady she was. I still use a homemade Christmas ornament she gave me over thirty years ago. May she walk with God. May all her loved ones find peace and comfort. God bless.
