Angela O'Shields Jackson, 58, of Newberry, died Saturday, April 3, 2021, at her residence.

Born on January 28, 1963, in Florence, she was the daughter of the late James Earl and Dorothy Ragsdale O'Shields. Ms. Jackson was a 1981 graduate of Whitmire High School, worked at Lorex Drugs and was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Brianna Beckom of Newberry; a brother, Tommy O'Shields of Florida and grandchildren, Amaiya Beckom, Aubreigh Hyler and Audrianna Hyler; former husband, Steve Jackson. She was predeceased by a brother, Bosco O'Shields.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm Friday, April 9, 2021, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105or St. Matthews Lutheran Church General Fund, PO Box 170, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Pastor Steve Jackson and Family, Knowing Angela and all y'all as well as we do it has been hard to write this. Angela's passing is heartbreaking. I know God knows what he is doing. But it is hard when someone you love passes. I don't like to say was because we all still love her and always will. This is so hard to believe. Y'all have our love and sympathy. I was so shocked to read of Angela's passing. We were friends for many years & she was so much help to my Dad with medical supplies, etc.
She was a sweet, beautiful lady always so kind and happy. Ourthoughts & prayers are with her family.

We are just shocked to have learned about Angela's passing. She was such a wonderful person to our family. She was always willing to help us and was so kind to us, whether through the pharmacy or just in a social setting. We and our community will certainly miss Angela, but we know she is in Heaven looking down on her family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Lee, Carol, Joseph, Amelia

Breanna I am so sorry your mama left us. We will miss her. She and I worked together for many years. She also helped me in my personal life. I was so shocked and heartbroken to learn of this. There are no words to express that will ease the pain. But I wanted to let the family know that I will be thinking & praying for all of you. My heart breaks for everyone, but especially for her granddaughter, Amaiya. I pray that Jesus will wrap you in his arms, and numb you from all the pain that you are enduring. I feel for you, but hope & pray that you will come out very strong, and just appreciate all of the times you and Nonnie had together. She will always be here, watching over you. You are a strong girl, and you can face anything that comes. Please know that you are loved and cared for. And have Faith that you will see her again, when the time is right. Bless you all.
