Kathryn “Kissie” Hendrickson Worrell, 85, of Prosperity, widow of Joseph Howard Worrell, Sr., died Thursday, January 28, 2010, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born on November 23, 1924, in Burlington, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Gardner and Ida Mae Hendrickson. She was retired from New Jersey Bell. Mrs. Worrell was a member of Zion United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Road Runners and the Lydia Fellowship Class. She enjoyed traveling.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph K. and Raydean Worrell of Gold Beach, OR; sisters, Ruth McKinley of Sarasota, FL and Alice Robbins of GA; a brother, Walt Hendrickson of Tacoma, WA; two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2010, at Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lowry Drennen. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church. Memorials may be made to Zion United Methodist Church UMYF, 80, Zion Circle, Prosperity, SC 29127.

Active pallbearers will be Gordon Shore and members of the John Wesley Sunday School Class

I have enjoyed Ms Kissie at our AARP meeting. She always brought God into our gatherings and was an inspiration to share. I will miss her.
