Eloise Epting Seymore, 89, of Newberry, widow of Joseph Christian Seymore, died Monday, March 8, 2010, at her residence.

Born on February 17, 1921, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Maxie and Amanda Caroline Stillwell Epting. She was retired from Kendall Company, Oakland Plant and was a member of Mayer Memorial Lutheran Church. Mrs. Seymore loved spending time with children.

Surviving are sisters, Edith Workman of Newberry, Myra Sue Chapman and Dorothy Derrick both of Prosperity and Theresa Welcher of Augusta; a brother Maxie Epting, Jr. of Cayce; grandchildren, Matthew Workman, Amanda Pearl Workman and Brittany Workman; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Epting Mazza; special niece, Amanda Bass and special friends, Nanette and Juan Ramon. She was predeceased by a sister, Kathryn McCullough and brothers, Robert Epting and Thomas Epting.

Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Mrs. Seymore was a very special lady and we loved her dearly. Madison adored her and she adored Madison. She was like a grandmother to me. She will be missed dearly. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
