Sara DeHart

Sara Long DeHart, 81, a resident of Regency Woods, Newberry, widow of Virgil R. DeHart, died Friday, September 2, 2011.

Born on August 13, 1930, in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late Richard Simpson and Pearl Amick Long. She was retired from ISE-America and was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church.

Mrs. DeHart is survived by sons, Richard L. (Ann) DeHart and John W. DeHart both of Newberry; sisters, Ruby Leopard of Newberry, Jonelle Dixon of Pomaria and Johnnie Lowder of Charlotte, NC; a brother, George R. Long of Pomaria; grandchildren, Amy D. Orne and Todd D. Oswald and great-grandchildren, Tanner Orne and Phillip Orne. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary Louise Kinard and Jean Suber Kinard.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Bill McDonald and Rev. Gary Pierstorff. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. The family is at 2708 Collinswood Drive, Newberry and will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101-9929.

My deepest sympathies to all the DeHart family on the loss of Ms. Sara. As a Christian, I know she is in a better place and is now without any pain. My continued sympathies to you for your loss. She will be missed.

Richard ,Wayne, and all of Ms. Sara's family you all have our love and prayers. Ms. Sara was a very sweet person and never mean to anyone. I feel I am a better person to have had her in my life.

Wayne, Richard, Ann & Family, We are So Sorry to hear about Ms. Sarah. Mama and I both worked with her for many years at ISE. She truly Loved her Family. And she loved to share her Garden Vegetables with us. Our thoughts and Prayers are with you all at this most difficiult time.
