Adele Marie “Pat” Hanmann, 81, of Newberry, widow of Henry Louis “Hank” Hanmann, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 20, 2022.

 

Born on October 5, 1940, in Albion, PA, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Pauline Ross Fritzges. She was a retired administrative assistant with Senior Catering and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Mrs. Hanmann enjoyed baking, shopping, bowling, crafting, playing the piano and traveling around the world. She had a special love for animals and most importantly enjoyed spending time with her family.

 

She is survived by a son, Jeffery (Andrea) Hanmann of Vancouver, WA; a daughter, Jennifer (James) Moates of Newberry; sisters, Barbara Curtis of Albion, PA, Diane Tvedt of Chester, SD and Evelyn Osterberg of Tuscon, AZ; grandchildren, Brittany (Cody) Aga of Greenwood, Heather (Drake) Hester and Stacy Moates both of Newberry, Jill Hanmann and Daniel Hanmann both of Vancouver, WA; great-grandchildren, Noah James Moates and Madison Claire Aga. She was predeceased by a sister, Jane Saksa-Brown.

 

The family would like to express great appreciation of Pat's care to Bruce and Cynthia Grant, Linda Bratton and Agape Hospice for the love and care given to her during her time of need.

 

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Newberry County Animal Shelter, 240 Public Works Drive, Newberry, SC 29108 or the Newberry Humane Society, PO Box 485, Newberry, SC 29108.

 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 2:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Charles Aurand.  The family will receive friends following the service. A memorial will be held in her hometown of Albion, PA later in the spring.
