Alma "Ann" Harris

Alma “Ann” Steading McIntyre Harris, 90, of Pomaria, died Monday, September 20, 2021, at her residence.

Born on March 4, 1931, in Wellford, she was a daughter of the late Troy B. Steading, Sr. and Marie Layne Steading. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church where she was involved in the 55+ Group.

Mrs. Harris is survived by a son, Michael (Susan) McIntyre of Lexington; daughters, Donna (Melvin) Smith of Pomaria and Vicky (Terry) Melvin of Winnsboro; a sister, Gladys Steading Fowler of Easley; grandchildren, Jason (Shannon) Smith, Crystal Smith, Wes (Lacy) Melvin, Brittany Melvin, Brad McIntyre and Carla (Matt) Velasquez and great-grandchildren, Cal Smith, Skylar, Brady and Isabella Velasquez and Cole and Molly Kate Melvin. She was predeceased by two husbands, Carl William McIntyre and Burr C. Harris and siblings, Elizabeth McNair Faxon, Helen Lunsford and Troy B. Steading, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church by the Rev. Darlene Kelley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the Reese Building. Memorials may be made to the church, 2360 Mt. Pleasant Road, Pomaria, SC 29126.

Active pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Cal Smith, Wes Melvin, Brad McIntyre, Matt Velasquez, Skylar Velasquez and Brady Velasquez.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church 55+ Group.

The family would like to thank Dr. Carroll Pinner and Anna Wicker for their loving care.
