Ann Cotney

With great sadness we lost our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Ann Lindler Cotney, 71, of Prosperity, who passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Lexington Medical Center. 

Born on September 25, 1952 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Loy Elmer Lindler and Eva Pearl Amick Lindler.  Ann graduated from Chapin High School and retired from Bellsouth (AT&T) and later worked for Newberry College and Piedmont Technical College.  She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church where she helped many years delivering Thanksgiving and Christmas meals to sick and home bound people in the community. Ann was kind to everyone she met. 

Ann loved her family very much and  is survived by a daughter, Michelle Cotney Crump (Troy) of Prosperity; grandchildren, Austen Leanna Collins (Stephen), Mia Nicole Russo (Cameron Davis) both of Prosperity, Reagan Crump (Bre Driggers) and Austin Crump (Haley Mattox) all of West Columbia; great-grandchildren, Maggie Taylor Crump and Beau Terry Lee Collins; a sister, Judy Lindler Graham (Dave) of Prosperity; special niece, Allison Lindler Brown (Patrick) and their children, Payton, Addison and Pierson all of Chapin; special nephew, David Graham (Brie) and their children, Marchal and Saylor all of Chapin; her fiancé Kenny Lindler and her feline companion, Dottie who she loved dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service.

Active pallbearers will be Austin Crump, Cameron Davis, David Graham, Patrick Brown, Ken Lindler, Stephen Collins and Pierson Brown.
