Anna Cheatham

Anna Hart Cheatham passed away peacefully in Newberry after a short illness on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at the age of 86.

Mrs. Cheatham was born in Newberry, SC on November 28, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Edgar L. and Anna Coe Keitt Hart. She attended Converse College, graduating with a degree in Interior Design. She was a life-long member of the Colonial Dames, and was most recently the registrar for that organization.

Mrs. Cheatham is survived by her sons, Miles W. Cheatham, of Anderson, SC, and Richard H. Cheatham, of Columbia, SC; grandchildren, Paige Youmans and Carrie Davis; and 5 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside following the service. The family suggests that those desiring may make memorials to Converse College, 580 E. Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
