Her faith journey began at Zion United Methodist Church in Prosperity. As their children grew she and Heyward transferred their memberships to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Little Mountain. She was an active member there belonging to the WELCA Cooper Fuller Circle, the Happy Mountaineers, and serving faithfully in the choir for over 40 years. She enjoyed shagging and line dancing with the Happy Feet Line Dancers and the Lake Murray Line Dancers. She was an especially loving and giving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who always desired to attend the activities of her grandchildren, never without a listening ear and an encouraging word. Her sweet spirit and cute sense of humor blessed all who knew her.

Surviving are her daughters and their spouses, Laurie (Bobby) Chapman of Little Mountain, Wanda (Fred) Andrieni of Atlanta, Georgia and daughter-in-law, Megan Shealy of Little Mountain. Her six grandchildren are Anna (Evan) Johnson of Saint Augustine, Florida, Robert (Tara) Chapman, Alaina Shealy, Rachel Shealy and Jacob Shealy all of Little Mountain and Brittany Andrieni of Atlanta. She leaves behind her two much adored great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Cameron Johnson of Saint Augustine. Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Alice Faye Bedenbaugh (Bob) Shealy and brother-in-law, Rodney (Margaret) Epting all of Prosperity and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, Glenn Heyward Shealy. She was also predeceased by three brothers, Dennis Bedenbaugh, Jimmy Bedenbaugh and Harold Bedenbaugh, a sister, Merle Bedenbaugh Epting and sister-in-law, Eula Bedenbaugh.
