Annette Adams West, 86, of Newberry, passed away on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Springfield Place.

Born on October 12, 1939, in Greenwood, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Inez Burnett Adams. Mrs. West was retired from Bi Lo and was a member of Lewis Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Annette was an independent, spunky lady that enjoyed life. She enjoyed cooking for her family and anyone who wanted to eat. She also loved dancing, especially square-dancing.

Her favorite hobby was beadwork especially making beaded jewelry. She also enjoyed quilting.

She was lovingly known as Grannette.

She is survived by a son, Ray (Joan) Worthington; daughters, Cindy (Bart) Merchant and Johnette (Paul) Shealy; a sister, Elsie Gary; eleven grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Mrs. West was predeceased by a daughter, Debbie Berley; sisters, Jennie Perry, Frances Harrison and Barbara Jean Glanton and brothers, Homer “Buddy” Adams and James Adams.

NOTE CHANGE IN DATE: Funeral services will be Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 2:00 pm in the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Jeff O'Dell. A private family burial will be held in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm at the funeral home.

Active pallbearers will be Rufus Berry, Keith Berry, Justin Branton, Tommy McCracken, Johnathan Murphy, Lucas McCracken, Billye West and Sabin West.
