Ardell Junior (AJ) Shealy

Ardell Junior (AJ) Shealy, 81, of Prosperity, died Sunday, April 29, 2018, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on November 14, 1936, in Chapin, he was a son of the late Ernest Ardell and Bertha Sites Shealy. He was retired from Shakespeare and was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church where he was in the Adult Sunday School Class II. Mr. Shealy had a great love for the outdoors as he loved farming, hunting and fishing. He most especially loved his family; his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Dennis Shealy; a son, Kenneth Dell (Debra) Shealy of Prosperity; a daughter, Janelle (Michael) Frick of Columbia; brother, Claude H. Shealy of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Jason (Nina) Stutts of Brooklyn, NY; Deann (Barry) McManus and Allen (Shelly) Shealy both of Prosperity; great-grandchildren. Calen and Eliza McManus and Carolyne Shealy; five step-grandchildren and twelve step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Shelvie Shealy of Prosperity and Frances Shealy of Chapin and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Shealy was predeceased by his siblings, Helen Lindler, Susie Frick, Myrtle Bouknight, Carl Shealy, Elton Shealy, Clarence Shealy, Robert Shealy, Charles Shealy and Lenard Shealy.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127.
