Bernice H. Connelly

Bernice Hawkins Connelly, 95, of Prosperity, widow of C. Eldred Connelly, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at White Oak Manor.

Born on September 20, 1922, in Prosperity, she was a daughter of the late Colin Ray Hawkins, Sr. and Artie Taylor Hawkins. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and the Adult # 2 Sunday School Class and New Horizons. Mrs. Connelly was retired from Prosperity Manufacturing.

She is survived by a son, Keith E. Connelly of Newberry; a brother, Colin Ray Hawkins, Jr. of Columbia; a granddaughter, Rachel Connelly of Prosperity and a great-granddaughter, Aubrey Caughman. She was predeceased by siblings, Reubin Hawkins, Majel H. Wicker and Mertie H. Connelly.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 14, 2018 St. Luke's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jason Schafer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Luke's Lutheran Church Cemetery Maintenance Fund, 4056 St. Luke's Church Road, Prosperity, SC 29127

Active pallbearers will be Mitchell Connelly, Timothy Connelly, Curtis Wicker, Ronnie Wicker, Donnie Hawkins and Wyman Hawkins.
