Betty Lomas Felker, of Newberry, widow of Marion W. Felker, Sr., passed away on Tuesday morning, August 10, 2021.

Born on February 9, 1931, she was the daughter of James Carlisle Lomas and Julia Monts Lomas Thomas. She was a honor graduate of Lander College where she was President of the Student Council and a tennis player. She was a teacher for the Newberry County Schools and Eau Clair High School. Mrs. Felker worked on the dairy farm until she retired in 1993. She was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church where she participated in the Lutheran Church Women.

She is survived by her family, Wilson Felker and Shelby Felker, grandson, Garrett Felker and his wife, Crystal Bodie Felker. Her great grandchildren are Ella Felker, Cole Bouknight and Alexis Bouknight. She is survived by her brother, Jim Lomas of Greenville and was predeceased by brothers, Richard Lomas and Jake Lomas. Her angel Adam Felker is already in heaven with her.

Funeral services will be Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 11:00 am at St. Matthews Lutheran Church with burial in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask that you send memorials to St. Matthews Lutheran Church, PO Box 170, Pomaria, SC 29126. Visitation will be after the service in the church fellowship hall.

The family extends special thanks to everyone who has helped with her care including White Manor of Newberry and MSA Hospice. She and the family greatly appreciated your assistance.

Active pallbearers will be Garrett Felker, Cole Bouknight, Alexis Bouknight, Greg Lominick, Tyler Johnson and Jimmy Dominick.
Honorary pallbearers are the Ladies of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, the staff of White Oak of Newberry and MSA Hospice nurses.

Due to the increase COVID 19 cases, the family would ask that masks be used and social distancing be observed.
