September 1, 1932 – March 14, 2026
Bobby Joe Stoudemire, 93, of Greenwood, husband of the late Sylvia Ruth Reese Stoudemire, for 72 years passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Self Regional Health.
Born on September 1, 1932, at his home in Peak, SC. He was the son of the late Louise Ford Stoudemire and John Carl Stoudemire. He graduated from Union High School in 1951 after attending four different high schools.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean War from 1951-1953 and served in Germany. He worked for Duke Energy for 37 years at the Buzzard Roost power station. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for over 60 years.
He was an avid fisherman and was a charter member of the Greenwood Bass Masters club for 40+ years.
He is survived by a sister, Edna Boozer of Prosperity; daughter, Cindy (Dan) Kayla of Ninety Six; granddaughter, Carla Hughes and great-grandson, Cayson Hughes of Fayetteville, NC; nephews, Nicky Boozer and Matt Boozer of Prosperity
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at St. Paul United Methodist Church by the Rev. Valerie Mireb, Reverend Hank Brooks, Reverend Phillip Howle and Reverend John Williams III. Burial will follow the service at 2:30 pm at Newberry Memorial Gardens in Newberry.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 9:30 am – 11:00 am at the church.
Memorials may be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Church Trustee Fund, 301 Cambridge Street, Ninety Six, SC 29666.
Active pallbearers will be Konnor Sanders, Kevin Sanders, Todd Sanders, Nicky Boozer, Matt Boozer and Don Crowley.
