Charles "Charlie" Amick

Charles Ray “Charlie” Amick, 79, of Prosperity, died Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Lexington Medical Center.

Born on June 4, 1943, in Prosperity, he was a son of the late Clinton and Elberta Lindler Amick. Mr. Amick was retired from Overnight Transportation and later operated Charlie’s Crafts at Dutch Square Mall.  He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and served in Thailand. He was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church and was a former Boy Scout Leader.

Mr. Amick is survived by his wife of 55 years, Wanda Auton Amick; daughters, Tracey Jewell (Marty) of Prosperity and Jeanine Alewine (Ryan Reed) of Leesville; brothers, Harvey Amick and David Amick both of Prosperity; grandchildren, Jessica Morrison (Matthew), Kristen Jewell, Alyssa Alewine and Kaitlyn Alewine and great-grandchildren, Brantley Morrison and Benjamin Morrison.  He was predeceased by siblings, Mae Miller, Mildred Longshore, Lucille Dominick, Henry Amick, Jake Amick and George Amick.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Hundley.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
