Charles Vernon Free

Charles Vernon Free, 83, of Pomaria, died Sunday, February 26, 2023.

Born on May 6, 1939, in Newberry County, he was a son of the late Vernon and Myrtle Dailey Free. He was a retired truck driver.

Mr. Free is survived by sons, Marty Free, Stevie Free (Teresa) both of Newberry, Adam Livingston of Batesburg and Chad Crane; daughters, Letha Hendrix (Robbie) of Newberry, Jeannie Ramsey (Zed) of Florida and Nell Murphy and Deborah Morris (Chris) both of Pomaria; and twelve grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Vernell Free.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 2, 2023 at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Rev. John Sedlitz. Burial will follow in Shady Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, 1918 Shady Grove Church Road, Irmo, SC. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be Buck Stuck, Adam Hendrix, Trey Pannier, Rob Clark, Chris Morris and C.J. Freeman.
