Charles Louie Henderson, 81, of Prosperity, died Monday, February 10, 2020.

He was born on July 30, 1938 in Spartanburg County to the late J.L. Henderson and Edna Easler Henderson Caldwell. He was a welder and a longtime member of Pineridge Baptist in Whitmire where he was the church representative for the Connie Maxwell Children's Home in Greenwood. Mr. Henderson was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War where he served as a Navy Seabee.

He is survived by a daughter, Dianne Henderson Cotney of Prosperity; a son, Charles Jeffory (Deb) Henderson of Inman; sisters, Marylynn Dukes of Spartanburg, Bobbie Gene Holcombe of Aiken and Cindy Hughes of Greenwood; a brother, George Dupree Henderson of Spartanburg;  grandchildren, Brittany Cotney Lambert and Bryan Troy (Kayla) Cotney and a great-grandson, Jacob Michel Lambert. He was preceased by his step-father, Gene Caldwell and siblings, Myrtle Brewington, Joe Henderson, Jack Henderson, Ray Henderson, Ray Caldwell and Jimmy Caldwell.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Kenny Weaver and the Rev. Bill McDonald. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Connie Maxwell Children's Home, 810 Maxwell Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.

Active pallbearers will be Clay Berry, Dennis Davis, Bryan Cotney, Ronnie Garner, Jimmy Dunaway and Danny Meetze.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Connie Maxwell Trelley Cottage.
