Chris Branham

Christopher Riser Branham, 42, of Newberry, passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at his home.

Chris was born on November 7, 1982 to John Vincent “Vince” and Donna Riser Branham. He attended and graduated from the University of South Carolina, and was a huge Gamecock fan ever since. He was a Gamecock Club member, and loved supporting his team. One of his passions was travel, something he did with his family often. Chris was a planner, and worked diligently on itineraries for their trips. They frequently found themselves on Anna Maria Island, and made many memories there. Chris also enjoyed watching the Boston Redsox play, and even traveled to watch them on occasion. His greatest passion was his family, whom he loved deeply, taking every opportunity to make memories and spend time with them. Chris worked at J.C. Wilkie Construction LLC, where he served as their Chief Estimator.

He is survived by his wife, Camryn Cannon Branham; children, Cooper Riser Branham and Lucy Ann Branham; parents, Vince and Donna Riser Branham; a sister, Lane Nicole (Allison) Branham; parents-in-law, Corey (Sue) Cannon and Ann Wise Cannon; and siblings-in-law, Eric (Kara) Cannon and Ashley (Riley) Brock.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Grover and Katheryn Branham; maternal grandparents, Pick and Mary Sease Riser; and his wife's grandparents, Charles Edwin and Dorothy Hawkins Wise.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 30, 2025 at St. Philip's Lutheran Church by the Reverend Terry Amick. Visitation will follow in the church fellowship hall. The family asks that those in attendance wear bright or Gamecock colors to the service.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Nica Dowd and Desiree Cohen of MSA Hospice for their excellent care of Chris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Wilkie, Suzanne Johnson, Kyle Branham, Andrew Branham, Benji Harmon, Eric Cannon, Riley Brock, Tony Biviano and Thomas Willis.
