Clara Morris Connelly

Clara Mae Morris Connelly, 81, of Aiken, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at Pepper Hill Nursing Home, Aiken.

A daughter of the late Luther Morris and Allie Mae Miller, she was born in Newberry, SC and had lived in Aiken County since 1951. She had been a telephone operator with Southern Bell and had then become a beautician, owning the Clara’s Hair Place in Clearwater, SC

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence Edward Connelly and a son, Bobby Eugene Connelly.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald “Ronnie” (Minnie) Connelly, Prosperity, SC and Mark (Sonya) Connelly, Aiken and a brother, Raymond Morris, Newberry. She is also survived by three grandchildren and one great grandson.

Graveside Funeral Services will take place on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 11:00 am in Rosemont Cemetery, Newberry, SC with Rev. Dr. Robert McCollum officiating. The family will receive friends at George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken on Wednesday, 6-8pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the Aiken County SPCA, 401 Wire Rd. Aiken, SC 29801.
