Claude Wren

Claude Wren, 83, of Newberry, died Saturday, December 3, 2022, at White Oak Manor.

Born on August 18, 1939, in Waco, TX, he was a son of the late Loraine and Millie Wren. Claude's life was filled with many difficulties, but due to the caring staff of Newberry Disabilities and Special Needs his last few years allowed him to experience many adventures never thought possible. He and his fellow companions had the opportunity to travel to Nashville, TN, Savannah, GA, New Orleans, LA, Myrtle Beach and the North Carolina Mountains. When allowed to retire he commented that he was going to do nothing and in retirement other than some traveling he did just that.

He is survived by his co-workers and close friends, Leon Jones and Carlos Morris and the staff of Leland House where he had resided. He was predeceased by a close friend, John Hickman.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 9, 2022, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home by the Minister Jerry Young. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Pugh Foundation, PO Box 856, Newberry, SC 29108.
