Colin James Pelton, age 65, of Brevard, NC passed away Thursday, September 3, 2026 peacefully at his home. Born April 26, 1961 in Midwest City (Tinker Air Force Base), OK, he was the son of the late Ellen Munro Pelton and Paul Leroy Pelton. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh through his stories and jokes. Colin had a passion for helping others, which he did selflessly, through his volunteer work with the homeless, helping friends or strangers in need or simply spending time with people listening and giving support. He cared about people in a way that was truly his own.

Colin graduated from Summerville High School in 1979 and was a 4 year starter on the SHS soccer team. He was an All-State player his senior year and still holds several soccer records today. Colin was recently inducted into the SHS Athletic Hall of Fame.

Most importantly, Colin had a deep love for God, his faith and his family. We find comfort knowing that the faith he carried through his life is now the peace he has found.

He is survived by his son, Jacob Pelton of Philadelphia, PA, daughter Olivia Daniel of Charleston, SC; brothers Anthony(Sheila) & Andrew(Lynn) Pelton; sisters Sharon(Till) Prater, Karen(Jim) Dupont; and numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

There will be a private burial service with family at Mt Pleasant Methodist Church in Pomaria, SC.
