D. J. Bedenbaugh

David Rudolph “D.J.” Bedenbaugh, Jr., 35, of Prosperity, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at his residence.

Born on January 8, 1975, in Newberry, he was a son of David Rudolph Bedenbaugh, Sr. and Cheryl Reeves Bedenbaugh. He was employed with the S.C. Department of Education as a school bus mechanic. Mr. Bedenbaugh was a member of Colony Lutheran Church where he was a member of the Congregational Council, Lutheran Men in Mission, the property committee, Sunday school treasurer and Children’s Ministry co-director. He was the 2006 Heartland Conference Young Lutheran Man of the Year.

Surviving in addition to his parents, David and Cheryl Bedenbaugh is his wife, Michelle Bunn Bedenbaugh; a son, David Rudolph “Trey” Bedenbaugh III; daughter, Tommie Leigh Bedenbaugh; an unborn child due in September and a sister, Holly B. (Michael) Wessinger.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at Colony Lutheran Church by the Rev. Jerry L. Trantham. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.
