David Carroll “Jake” Livingston, 82, of Newberry, died Saturday, July 28, 2018, at his residence.

Born on June 10, 1936, in Pomaria, he was a son of the late Arthur and Bessie Long Livingston. Mr. Livingston was a former member of the S.C. National Guard. He worked for Pepsi, the Newberry Cotton Mill, Shealy Trucking and Livingston Trucking. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church where he was in the Leisure Club, served on the church council and the Evangelism Committee. Mr. Livingston was a Mason. He loved riding his Harley and his final ride to the cemetery will be behind a Harley.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy “Dot” Kyzer Livingston; sons, David A. (Annie) Livingston of Newberry and Kenny (Davida) Livingston of Prosperity; a daughter, Faye (Ed) Fant of Newberry; sisters, Lonnette (Randy) Turner of Newberry, Essie (Bright) Griffin of Pomaria and Jimmy N. Turner of Newberry; brothers, Jimmy (Barbara) Livingston of Prosperity and Marion “Mac” (Angela) Livingston of Newberry; grandchildren, Michael Livingston, Chris Livingston, Josh Kingsmore and James Kingsmore and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Helen Livingston and brothers, Bob Livingston and William Livingston.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, July 30, 2018, at Faith Lutheran Church by the Rev. Al Potter and Rev. Charles Aurand. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at McSwain-Evans Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1505 Wilson Road, Newberry, SC 29108 or to MSA Hospice, 180 Commerce Drive, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Rankin, Jimmy Dominick, Bo Fowler, Gary Lee Guy, Aubrey Horne and Alvin Ringer.
