Wanda Deborah “Gmama” Mundy, 76, of Prosperity, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at home with family.

Born on March 13, 1949, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late George Mundy, Sr. and Wanda Ard Mundy. Debbie was a longtime manager of Thompson Gas (formerly Ellco Industries).

She is survived by her daughters, Deana (R.J.) Mills of Prosperity and Holly Mills of Newberry; granddaughters, Whitney (Caleb) Mills of Whitmire and Kayley Harrison of Newberry; sisters, Cindy Irons and Carol Williams both of Whitmire; brothers, George (Karen) Mundy, Jr. of Whitmire, Kerry (Deborah) Mundy of Batesburg and Craig (Trish) Mundy of Prosperity; great-grandchildren, Ladarien Jackson, Aveon Jackson, Treyon Jackson, Kennley Williams, Drayten Caldwell, Miles Pressley and Maddi Pressley and a number of nieces and nephews.

Debbie was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brittani Michele Wilson, a brother, Eddie Mundy and a sister, Sandra Mundy.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Tasha Cook. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm.

Memorials may be made to the Newberry County Animal Shelter.
