Deborah Watson

Deborah Evans Watson, 71, of Laurens, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024.

Mrs. Watson was born to the late Lewis W. and Sylvia Stewart Evans on December 9, 1952.

She worked at Kemet in Simpsonville for a number of years, then after retiring she became a homemaker.

Mrs. Deborah had a passion for flowers, and took great joy in tending to her garden. She also loved her trips to the beach and the lake.

Mrs. Watson is survived by her loving fiancée, Steve Hawthorn; son, Kris Wilson; daughter, Melissa Taylor; grandsons, Cole Wilson and Evan Taylor; and sister, Amber (Al) Tarver. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Carl Lee Gibbs III, and her grandson, Aiden Wilson.

Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 14, 2024 at College Street Church, 3240 College Street, Newberry, SC 29108 by the Reverend Jeff Barlow. The family will be receiving friends following the service in the church fellowship hall.
