Dora Bell Jones “MiMi” Mize, 89, of Newberry, widow of Clyde Thomas Mize, died September 4, 2025 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home. Born on December 23, 1935 in Belton, she was a daughter of the late Hoke Smith and Murrel Elsie Dorn Jones. Mrs. Mize retired from Damon International. After retirement, she went to work at White Oak Manor and later with the food service at Newberry High School. She was a member of Lewis United Methodist Church, and later attended Wightman Methodist Church. MiMi loved drinking Mountain Dews, cooking, gardening, and going on camping trips. What was most important to her however was her family that she loved dearly.
She is survived by a daughter, Vicki (Yogi) Livingston of Newberry; sisters, Virginia Boggs of Ware Sholes, Linda Dunn of Norfolk, VA; brothers, Ernest Jones of Anderson, and Paul Jones of Newberry; grandchildren, Hayli (Tori) Livingston Hoover of Newberry and Wesley (Breanna) Livingston of Prosperity; great-grandchildren, Adilynn, Charli, and Ellie; a number of nieces and nephews; and a special cousin, Jean Counts.
She was predeceased by a sister, Betty Bundrick and by her twin sister, Nora Jones; and brothers, Thurmond Jones and Chris Jones.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 Am Monday, September 8, 2025 in Rosemont Cemetery by her granddaughter, Hayli Livingston Hoover. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, please honor her by carrying her legacy. Hug someone that needs it, smile at a stranger, or feed someone thats hungry. Those are the things she spent her life doing. The family would like to thank the Staff of J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home and a special friend, Misha Courtney.
