Doris A. White

Doris Rebecca Amick Garrett White, 83, of Prosperity, died Friday, August 20, 2021, at Prisma Health Richland.

Born on January 2, 1938, in Chapin, she was a daughter of the late Ansel O'Neil and Lillian Estelle Shealy Amick.

Mrs. White is survived by sisters, Evelyn Harmon and Betty (Henry) Hyler both of Prosperity; a brother, Carroll (Betty) Amick of Prosperity; brother-in-law, Bobby Chapman; sisters-in-law, Priscilla Amick of Ridgeway and Marsha Amick of Lexington; step-son, Marty White of Newberry; step-daughters, Robin Long of Newberry and Candy Frick of Little Mountain; six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Mrs. White was twice married, first to the late Robert Neal Garrett and secondly, to the late J.K. White. She was predeceased by a son, Kenneth O'Neal Garrett and brothers, Harvey O'Neal Amick, Donald Ray Amick and James Edward Amick, her sister, Barbara Chapman died on August 21, 2021.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, August 23, 2021, at Newberry Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Bobby Morris. Memorials may be made to Hospice Care, PO Box 7275, Columbia, SC 29202-7275.

Active pallbearers will be Corey Amick, Tim Harmon, Stacy Amick, Bryan Amick, Shawn Sexton and Michael Ray Amick.
