Doris Richardson “Aunt Dot” Graham, 103, of Prosperity, died Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at White Oak Nursing Home.
Born in Newberry County on September 1, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Olin and Julia Werts Richardson.
Ms. Dot loved her job at Mid Carolina High School cafeteria where she worked until she was in her 70's. From her years of working she bonded with many of the students and faculty.
Although she had love for many her son, Richie and sister, Sara were her heart. Ms. Dot loved her church, St. Paul Lutheran and faithfully attended there for 102+ years.
To show her love to others she loved to cook and was always willing to prepare specific food request when asked by family members.
Ms. Dot was blessed to be healthy for most of her life. She was admitted to Newberry Hospital for the birth of her son, Ritchie some seventy years ago and until 2020 when she was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital for ERCP had not major medical issues. Ms. Dot was a tough gal who often stated that she was a “tough old buzzard.”
She is survived by her son, Richie Graham; grandson, Joshua (Clara) Graham; great-granddaughter, Brianna and nieces and nephews.
Ms. Dot was predeceased by her husband, George O. Graham; a sister, Sara Swygert and brothers, Cyril Richardson and Pearl Richardson.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, October 21, 2024, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Dawn Rister.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm - until the hour of service pm Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Scott, Larry Swygert, Ronnie Richardson, Kenneth Richardson, Carolyn Richardson, Barry Richardson and Merrill Richardson.
