Doris Sligh Richardson

Doris Carolyn Sligh Richardson, 96, widow of Ervin Gerald Richardson, of Travelers Rest, SC, formerly of Prosperity, SC, peacefully entered the Gates of Heaven on December 19,2022.

Mrs. Richardson was born in Newberry county, a daughter of the late James William Jacob and Rosa Lee Bobb Sligh. She was a retired employee of the Kendall Company Oakland Plant, having worked there for many years until she retired to become a full-time caregiver for her mother-in-law.

Mrs. Richardson is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melba and Paul Compton, of Travelers Rest, SC, and numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving and faithful canine companion, Angel, and her devoted feline companion, Mittens. Mrs. Richardson was predeceased by her three sisters and six brothers.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 22, 2022 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Reverend Jimmy Counts. No formal visitation will be held.

Paul and Melba Compton would like to express their gratitude to family and friends for their phone calls and prayers, the staff of Heaven's Angel Home Care in Travelers Rest, SC, and the staff of Pruitt Hospice and Palliative Care in Greenville, SC. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
