Dorothy Berenbrok

Dorothy Augusta Berk Berenbrok, 94, of Prosperity, the widow of Gerald Keith Berenbrok died peacefully at her home on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.

Born on February 6, 1930, in Balitmore, Maryland, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Bohlen Berk. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Joe and sister, Shirley.

Mrs. Berenbrok retired from Colonial Life and was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Goldies. 

She is survived by her son, Mark (Carol) Berenbrok of Lexington; her daughter, Deborah (Tom) Schmidt of Summerville; and grandchildren, Kyle (Jennifer) and Tyler Schmidt and Matthew (Kari) and Nathan (Jordan) Berenbrok and a great-grandson, August Berenbrok and a great granddaughter, Lola Clark.

Dorothy was an avid lover of antiques and gardening.  She and Jerry spent many days in their long marriage scouring the countryside in search of unique antiques which they filled their cabin in the woods with.  Equally important to Dorothy was filling her yard with plants and flowers.  She took great pride in maintaining an impressive garden no matter the season.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 11 A.M. at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Hundley. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium.
