Dorothy Sutton Conner

Dorothy Sutton Conner, 82, of Newberry, widow of Martin C. Conner, died Tuesday, March 29, 2022, at the Newberry County Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 17, 1939, in Lee County, VA., she was a daughter of the late Grant and Eva Mae Morrison Sutton. She was retired from Whitten Center and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Conner is survived by a brother, Paul Sutton of Newberry and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Meda Bouknight, Edith Ruff, Opal Jennings and Billie Gribble and brothers, Alva Sutton, Willie Ray Sutton and Melvin Sutton.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Friendship Baptist Church by the Rev. Paul Rowe and Rev. Tony Pettit. Burial will follow in Whitmire Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the Friendship Baptist Church, 73 Leaman Avenue, Whitmire, SC 29178.

Active pallbearers will be Jeffrey Sutton, Reuben Sutton, Joe Busbin, Rocky Sutton, Brandon Jones and Dusty Robinson.
