Douglas “Doug” Eugene Adams of Columbia passed away peacefully at his home on October 14, 2022. Doug was born on January 22, 1956 in Newberry, SC, to Eugene Scott Adams and Margaret Cook Adams.

Doug attended USC where he became an avid Gamecock Fan. He loved working around the house, hanging out with his poker friends, watching sports and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren and rooting them on playing their favorite sports.

Doug also loved learning about history, listening to music, passing out presents during Christmas and loved God.

Doug was also a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and recently had the opportunity to travel to watch them play with his grandson, Jaden and his brother Robert and son, Michael.

He was predeceased by his parents Eugene and Margaret and sister, Bonnie.

Surviving is his wife of 42 years, Janie Spurgeon Adams, daughters, Maggie (Bryan) Tucker and Katie Adams: Grandchildren Jaden Adams and Jack and Charlotte Tucker: Siblings Wendell Adams, Connie Rayfield, Robert (Rhonda) Adams, Marcia (Harold) Ruff and Diane Hall; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is also survived by his other brothers Cy Rush, Gene Williams, Coach Steve Wilson, James Odom, Jason Hill, Wally Anderson, Lewis Bishop, Jim Edenfield and Jim Hicks. He loved them dearly.

A celebration of life service will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Dutch Fork Chapel, 7600 Woodrow St., Irmo, SC 29063 on Friday October 21 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am--11:00 am prior to the service. Memorials may be made to The SCOA Cares Foundation, 166 Stoneridge Drive, Columbia SC 29210
