Duane E. Harris

Duane E. Harris, 78, of Pomaria, died Friday, May 16, 2025 at Newberry Health.

Born on January 21, 1947 in Fairfield County, he was a son of the late Carl and Josephine Walker Harris. Mr. Harris worked in construction for many years. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. He was involved with prison ministries in Texas and in South Carolina. He loved playing golf, working in his yard, and playing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Fowler Harris; daughters, Janeene (Paul Morris) Harris of Pomaria and Crystal (Mark) Phillips of Pomaria; a son, Bart (Mairovys) Harris of Pomaria; grandchildren, Chad (Tabitha) Davenport, Kayla (Harold) Abnathey, Karley (Neal Rawls) Lever, Nicholas Harris, Hayden Phillips, and Elijah Kowalski; and 5 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Chelsea Williams.

A private graveside service will be held in the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery.
