Ed Fant

Edward William Fant, 85, of Newberry, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at White Oak Manor.

He was born on August 25, 1940, in Spartanburg. Ed was in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years and during his service was in Vietnam. He was a member of the Leisure Club and a member of Faith Lutheran Church. He and his wife, Faye, enjoyed riding Harley Davidson Motorcycles.

He is survived by his wife, Faye Livingston Fant; sons, Eddie (Jody) Fant of Riegelwood, NC, Josh (Candice) Kingsmore of Prosperity and James Kingsmore of Newberry; a daughter, Tina Fant of Bishopville; a sister, Marie Morrow; a brother, Raymond Fant; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ed was predeceased by daughters, Tonya Fant and Jessica Fant, sister, Christine Jolly and brothers, Preston Fant and Baxter Fant.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Faith Lutheran Church by the Rev. Randy Derrick. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home of Josh and Candice Kingsmore, 104 Colony Drive, Prosperity and will receive friends Wednesday from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church, 1505 Wilson Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Eddie Fant, Josh Kingsmore, James Kingsmore, Spencer Kingsmore, Michael Jordan and Michael Huggins.
