Edith Werts-Szucs

Edith Louvania Werts Szucs, 84, of Pomaria, widow of John Joseph Szucs, Jr., died Friday, January 29, 2010, at Springfield Place.

Born on May 15, 1925, in Pomaria, she was a daughter of the late Hubert and Louvania Berley Werts. She was a caregiver for many years, was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and a former President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in New Jersey.

Surviving is a son, John Szucs III of Pomaria; daughters, Linda Szucs Carnival of Roebling, NJ and Maria Szucs Sadar of Florence, NJ; a brother, Hubert “Buddy” Werts of North Augusta; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2010, at McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel by the Rev. J. Henri Bishop. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
