Elaine S. Franklin

Elaine Shealy Franklin, 84, of Newberry, widow of Roy Franklin, died Saturday, June 26, 2021, at White Oak Manor.

Born on August 29, 1936, in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Curtis M. “Rabbit” Shealy and Connie Adams Shealy. Mrs. Franklin was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church.

She is survived by a daughter, Cherrie Franklin Longshore of Newberry; a sister, Alice (Brice) Boozer of Prosperity; grandchildren, Janna L. Longshore and Austin M. (Kristian) Longshore; great-granddaughters, Charlotte and Claire and sisters-in-law, Carolyn M. Shealy and Hazel M. Franklin. She was predeceased by a brother, Larry C. Shealy.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, July 2, 2021, at Rosemont Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Robert McCollum. The family will receive friends following the service. Family and friends may sign the register at the funeral home on Wednesday or Thursday between 9:00 am – 5:00 pm or on Friday from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church, 2704 Nance Street, Newberry, SC 29108.

Active pallbearers will be Brian Bishop, Jamie Boozer, Mason Boozer, Clint Shealy, Russell Franklin, Levi Cumalander and Joshua Cumalander.
