Elizabeth Maggie Lindler Summer, 86, of Little Mountain, widow of John William Summer, died Monday, August 31, 2026, at Prisma Health Baptist Parkridge.

Born on September 8, 1939, in Chapin, she was the daughter of the late Walter Miller and Lula Mae Slice Lindler. Mrs. Summer retired from Little Mountain Elementary School and was member of Cross Point Church.

She is survived by sons, Richard Summer (Brenda) of Greenville and Jerry Summer (Tracey Wilkes) of Little Mountain; brother, Carroll Bryan Lindler of Chapin; grandchildren, Hannah Summer and Callie Summer; sisters-in-law, Ann Lindler and Janet Lindler; the Wilkes children and extended family, Nat and Jennifer Birochak and family.

Mrs. Summer was predeceased by brothers, Edward Lindler and J.L. Lindler and sister-in-law, Mattie Jean Lindler.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Cross Point Church of Newbery by the Rev. Jeff O’Dell. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the church on Thursday from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm.
