Ernest Cooper

Ernest Jerry Cooper, 68, of Newberry, died Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at his residence.

Born on April 19, 1941 in Franklin County, VA, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Mildred Hill Cooper. He was an Army and Navy Vietnam veteran. Mr. Cooper was the retired plant manager for Sea Pro Boat and a member of the Newberry Country Club.

Surviving are his wife, Joy Walker Cooper; a daughter, Jennifer Lynn Cooper of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Mary Ann Saia of Calabash, NC and Barbara Mays of Kernsville, NC; brothers, Tommy Cooper of Little River, SC and Allen Cooper of Gonzales, LA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2009 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, NC. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA. Visitation will be Thursday from 7:00- 8:00 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home.
