Eugenia Moates Crumpton, 79, of Newberry, widow of Olin Houseal Crumpton, died Sunday, April 25, 2010, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born on April 23, 1931, in Union, she was a daughter of the late William Dewey and Mary Belle Wix Moates. She was retired from Damon International and a member of Enoree Baptist Church.

Surviving is a daughter, Janet C. (John) Moran of Newberry; a son, Alan Houseal (Teresa) Crumpton of Whitmire; sister, Bobbie Jewel Smith of Newberry; a brother, William Rupert Moates of Newberry; grandchildren, Jonathan Moran, Thomas Moran, Steven Moran, Jessica Crumpton and Cody Crumpton; a great-granddaughter, Skylend Moran. Mrs. Crumpton was predeceased by a sister, Doshia Rankin and a brother, Oral Moates.

Committal services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Enoree Baptist Church Cemetery. A memorial service and visitation will immediately follow in the church. Memorials may be made to Enoree Baptist Church, c/o Reba Lake, 5101 Jolly Street, Road, Newberry, SC 29108.
