Frances Bailey Dickert, 86, of Pomaria, widow of Earl W. Dickert, Sr., died Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at Palmetto Health Richland.

Born on May 18, 1931, in China Grove, NC, she was the daughter of the late John David and Sarah Pettus Bailey. She was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church since 1950 when she married Earl. Mrs. Dickert loved her church and was a very active member. She had taught Bible School, Sunday School, and Weekday Church School. She was a member of the Morning Circle and the Joy Fellowship. She had previously served on the church council and for a number of years as the chairperson of the bereavement committee. Mrs. Dickert was very involved during the planning and building of the church family life center. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother!

She is survived by sons, Earl (Charlene) Dickert, Jr. and William B. (Jeanne) Dickert, Sr. both of Pomaria; a brother, Jack D. Bailey of Clover; grandchildren, Whitney D. (David) Hill, Jessica D. (Shaun) Cutler, William Dickert, Jr. and Justin (Crystal) Dickert; great-grandchildren, Nora, Quinn and Max Cutler, Hannah and Hudson Hill, Charlie and Andrew Dickert and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dickert was predeceased by brothers, Robert Bailey and Arcy Bailey.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, February 23, 2018, at St. Philip's Lutheran Church by the Rev. Terry Amick. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at her residence and they will receive friends following the service on Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Philip's Lutheran Church Family Life Center, 2461 St. Philip's Church Road, Newberry, SC 29108 or to the charity of one's choice.

Active pallbearers will be Will Dickert, Jr., Justin Dickert, Shaun Cutler, David Hill, Robbie Franklin and Pat Meetze.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Bailey, Earl Bailey, Horace Bailey, David Bailey and Randy Summer.
