IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances "Lee"
McGinn
December 10, 1961 – January 16, 2026
Frances Leland Watson McGinn passed peacefully at Parkridge Hospital with her daughter at her side on January 16, 2026. Lovingly known as “Lee,” she was born on December 10, 1961, in Greenville, South Carolina. She resided in Little Mountain, South Carolina, where she built a life filled with creativity, love, and deep connections to family, friends, and faith.
Lee was a dedicated cosmetologist for more than 40 years, a career she was deeply passionate about. She took great pride in her work and found joy in helping others feel confident and beautiful. Her talent, professionalism, and caring spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who sat in her chair.
Above all else, Lee cherished her family. She especially adored her grandson, Ty Burley Robinson, the true light of her life, and treasured every moment spent with her grandbaby and her great nieces and nephews. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved dog, Scruffy—affectionately known as the “Princess of Little Mountain.”
Lee was a talented artist who loved to paint and draw, finding peace and expression through her art. She enjoyed watching live rock and roll bands, spending time at the beach, and embracing life with enthusiasm and warmth. A strong believer in her faith, Lee lived with resilience and grace, having managed Type 1 diabetes since the age of 17 with remarkable strength.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Patrick Watson and Patricia Seets Watson; her sister, Elizabeth Watson Cumalander; and her cherished dog, Scruffy.
Lee is survived by her loving daughter, Holly McGinn Robinson (Caleb); her grandson, Ty Burley Robinson; her nieces, Christy Meetze Jeffcoat (Wayne) and Shannon Nicole Meetze; her great nephews, Jonathan Meetze, Hunter Jeffcoat, and Patrick Clayton; her great nieces, Rylee Jeffcoat and Kellyn Clayton; her cousin Billy Seets (Lynda), Lee Javins (Kim), Julie Javins Norman, Nancy Brantley, Betsy Duke as well as many other extended family members who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be held at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel in Newberry on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 2:00 pm, with visitation to be held immediately following the service. Senior Pastor James A Murray of Gods Church of Deliverance will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations or memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023 Merrifield, VA 22116-7023 or The Courage Center, 860 Park Road, Lexington, SC 29072 in Lee’s honor.
