Frances Derrick Wicker, 89, of Newberry, died September 17, 2026 at Newberry Health.

Born on June 28, 1937 in Newberry, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Lilly Huffstetler Derrick. She retired from Greenwood Mills, Blalock Plant and Wicker's Nursery. Frances was known for her beautiful flowers beds and immaculate home. She was an excellent cook and was known for her sweet potato pies, liver nips, and chicken stew.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, James P. Wicker; 2 sons,Larry (Judy) Wicker of Newberry and Randy (Julia) Wicker of Greer; a sister, Marlene Moore of Newberry; grandchildren, Kristen Feldman, Gary Wicker, Pierce Wicker, and Alex Wicker; and a great-granddaughter, Rhanyn Feldman.

She was predeceased by brothers, Grady Derrick, James Derrick and Fred Derrick; sisters, Dorothy Brooks, Mildred Brooks, Floy Brooks and Faye Hawkins; and an infant son.

Graveside services will be conducted at 3:00 pm, Sunday, September 20, 2026 in the St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery by the Rev. Rodney Gunter. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church, 228 Jalapa Road, Newberry, SC 29108.

Honorary pall bearers will be Gary Wicker, Pierce Wicker, Tyler Johnson, and Kenneth Brooks.
