Francis Matthew “Frank” Netzel, 73, of Pomaria, died August 14, 2026 at his residence.

Born on April 22, 1953 in Yokohama, Japan, he was a son of the late Norbert and Angeline Koehler Netzel. Frank was a United States Navy Veteran and retired from Mack Trucks. Frank was a man that truly loved the outdoors and found great joy spending time in nature. He loved his family dearly, and took great pride in his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Ae Ja K. Netzel; daughters, Michelle (Greg) Roberts and Natalie (Phillip) Szrajer; a son, Matthew (Ashley) Netzel; brothers, Phillip Netzel, Norbert Netzel, and Michael Netzel; grandchildren, James Netzel, Caleb Netzel, Lilly Netzel, Ava Szrajer, and Ella Szrajer.

He was predeceased by a brother, Stephen Netzel.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday, August 20, 2026 at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Justin Smith. The family will receive friends following the service.
