Elizabeth Gayle Livingston Edwards, 73, of Newberry, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born on September 1, 1952, in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late Carl “Fat” and Doris Martin Livingston. Gayle was a retired nurse of 30 years and was a member of Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church.

Gayle always had a love for animals and had numerous furbabies over the years. The greatest joys of her life, however, were her family; her loving husband, children and grandchildren. She was lovingly known as Nana and MeMe by her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John “Sport” Edwards, daughters, Haley (Garrick) Wise of Kinards, and Jessica (Jared) Jones of Prosperity and grandchildren, Taylor and Zachary Wise and Jackson and Jordan Jones.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 4, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Clayton Tovo. Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 12:30 pm – 1:30 pm in the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home Chapel.
