Gaynell King Richardson, 90, of Newberry, died July 6, 2026 at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Home.

Born on January 10, 1936 in Newberry, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Peggy Kyzer King. She was a retired supervisor at Shakespeare. Gaynell enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. She was also an excellent cook. Her life centered around her family whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by husbands, Forrest L. Powell and J.W. “Billy” Richardson.

The family would like to thank the staff of J.F. Hawkins and Springfield Place for their loving care of Gaynell during her stay.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 10, 2026, at Newberry Memorial Gardens.

Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice.
